Hello everyone:
I have recently completed the modern warfare 3 campaign (a few times) (which explains the absense of new fan art). I personally loved the single player compaign, as i am a big fan of the modern warfare storyline. (i get emotionally evolved with fictional characters too much).
And now i shall do something which i am extremely reluctant to do in English class when told to: Write a long analysation of sorts
<rant>
Modern Warfare 3 has been heavily criticised by critics and gamers due to the fact it lacks graphical improvements, new features, and its short 5 hour campaign. It is true there has been very little improvements on its IW engine, causing the game's graphics to be easily beaten by various other shooter titles such as Crysis 2 and Battlefield 3, despite those two games being released earlier than Modern Warfare 3. Infinity Ward did make a few new features for Modern Warfare 3, yet most of those are rather uncreative: the new multiplayer mode 'Kill confirmed' had been done by Crysis. The 2 player spec ops mode had been done by quite a good number of games: portal 2, f.e.a.r 3 etc. 'Survival mode' has definitely been overdone by countless other titles. And having dual scopes on your weapon isn't enough to create any kind of excitement amongst gamers. (OMG OMG I can have an ACOG and a holographic scope on my gun at the same time!!!

This is SO AWESOME.......lol no i don't think anyone would react like that)
Modern Warfare 3's 5 hour campaign is very short but extremely satisfying, the campaign is packed with endless action(until you reached the end of the campaign): exploding jamming tower, exploding submarine, exploding chemical bombs in Europe, exploding bits of the eiffel tower which survived 2 world wars but can't handle a bit of friendly fire, exploding church towers, exploding doors, exploding diamond mine, killing stuff with missiles, killing stuff with mortars, killing more stuff with an UGV, killing even more stuff with a chopper gunner, killing a lot more stuff with an AC 130. The action is so heavy that is in harder difficulties it is risky to take your eyes off the screen for just a second, unless it is a stealth mission, but since this is call of duty we're talking about, even stealth missions end up as a massive gun fight with helicopters and explosions and gunfire everywhere.
What makes the gameplay more exciting is the game's storyline, and how easily it is to become emotionally evolved into it (unless you have no feelings). The storyline is dramatic, engaging and moving (some exaggeration intended). I mean, who has played the entire campaign for cod 4 to cod 8, and not felt a single bit of hatred towards makarov? First of all, the game has a natural advantage in making the players become engaged in the storyline as the setting is right here in the world we live in, in the countries we know of, and for many UK and US gamers, in the cities they live in. Also the characters are all human, and people feel empathy towards other people easier than anything else (except cute kittens). The characters are normal humans just like us, except very elite in combat, magically heals from bullet wounds, can take down hundreds of enemies by themselves, and did some super special mission which protected their country/comrades, or bought world peace via killing people.
Most of the important characters are characterised very well, they all have a backstory which made them who they are (Flashbacks one after the other). When the player plays the campaign, they fight as, alongside, or against these characters, and they slowly (or quickly if you're emotional like me) develop different feelings towards each character, and it feels as if the characters are real, and we know them. Most people (except the heartless ones) who've played the campaign feel companionship toward the teammates, hatred towards the antagonists and respect for characters like Price and Macmillan. This leads to the player becoming sad when comrades die (Why do the awesome characters keep dying?

RIP Gaz, Ghost, Sandman and Yuri, nope Soap doesn't get a mention), furious when the antagonists does something evil and selfish (Yay i saved the presid......oh noes not makarov....D:< Screw you makarov!!!) frustrated when an important mission fails (oh no we lost the president's daughter now the president will give up the launch codes to makarov who'll use it to kill everyone except the russians!) and proud when something goes right ( :3 i did an epic throwing knife kill on shephred). I would say that the modern warfare storyline is one of the really emotive stories amongst shooters.
Side note: Yuri is the most awesome character in call of duty, he's got like this sad past: he had to witness makarov/Al-asad killing thousands of people dying in a nuke, hewas almost killed by makarov as he tried to prevent the Zakhaev airport massacre. He fought hard in TF141 to get vengeance/save people's lives, caused the death of his comrade soap because of his past, and bought enough time with his own death for Price to kill makarov. That's like epic-ly sad (that and he's just generally cool)</rant>
Need spec ops partner for Modern Warfare 3! The only 3 people in my friends list that plays mw3 are all weirdos from my school, and the 2 close-ish friends that do play mw3 play it on xbox. So would anyone be interested in being my spec ops partner? I play PC btw
I am:
- Good enough to have done 5 missions in veteran and the rest in hardened
- Nooby in multiplayer, K/D is currently less than 0.5
- Bad with pistols
- Bad with shotguns
- Bad with Launchers
- Dislike submachine guns
- Can't quickscope/no scope well, but is ok with the sniper rifles, not too bad with bolts
- Can't 360 no scope, jump shot, or do any fancy stuff
- At my best when using assault rifles such as the m4a1, scar L and G36C
- Fail with flash grenades but can use other explosives
- Happy to teamwork cause teamwork is awesome
- Happy to follow commands as long as they sound like a legit plan
- Can't play often, only once in a while
Looking for someone:
- with good patience
- knows how to aim down the sights and shoot properly
- won't be sad if i can't play at a certain time
- Happy to teamwork
- Preferablly someone who doesn't go around knifing people all the time
- Preferablly someone who doesn't run off by themselves cause being alone freaks me out
- Will tolerate friendly fire
Note/comment if you think you're willing to play spec ops with me, thanks
